Over the years I have learned
many techniques to treat and rehabilitate shoulders. My journey started out of
necessity because I suffered a severe shoulder injury in college while lifting
weights (or so I thought I was lifting weights). The next morning I could not
scratch my head. I went to the team orthopedic surgeon who examined me for
about 2 minutes and dismissed me with the following advice, “Take these
anti-inflammatories and stop lifting weights.” OUCH! I could not
believe it! That’s it? Needless to say, my shoulder was not right for a long
time – years! It wasn’t until I entered chiropractic school that I started to
learn about proper treatment and care of my injury. This was just the tip of
the iceberg though. I learned about exercise too and was
able to start training again.
After school I re-injured my
shoulder many times and was frustrated that the treatment and exercise was not
FIXING my shoulder problem. Early in my career I decided enough was enough, it
was time to learn how to SOLVE my
